【摘要】:Thedegradationofopticalpropertiesoftransparentplasticsisthesinglegreatestcauseforin-serviceremovalandreplacement.Someopticalqualitiesareinherentinthegeometry,manufacturingprocess,andmaterials,andremainrelativelyunchangedaftermanufacture,whileothersaresubjecttogradualchangeduringexposuretotheserviceenvironment.Factorshavinganinfluenceonthecrazingoftransparentplasticsincludestress,ultraviolet(UV),moisture,andtemperature.Sufficientdatahasbeengeneratedtomakeitevidentthatreal-worldconditioningmustbeexperiencedbydevelopmentaltestspecimens,asopposedtotestingnewunexposedmaterialtodeterminedurability,priortoin-serviceusage.However,thelaboratorysimulationofnaturalweathering,andespeciallyacceleratedsimulation,isimpreciseandcorrelationofresultsobtainedfordifferentplasticsorfromusingdifferentexposureapparatusshouldnotbeattempteduntilavaliddatabasehasbeengeneratedforsuchcross-correlation.1.1Thistestmethodevaluatestheresistanceoftransparentplasticsexposedtoenvironmentalconditioning(acceleratedweathering)underabiaxialstressstateinducedbyapressurecell/testfixture.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thevaluesstatedinacceptablemetricunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
