【摘要】:Poly(vinylchloride)resinsmustcontainaminimumpossibleamountofunreacted,orfree,VCM.ThistestmethodprovidesameasureofRVCMwhichissuitableformanufacturingcontrolorspecificationacceptancepurposes.Underoptimumconditions,alowerlevelofdetectionof2ppmbyvolumeVCMcanbedetectedintheheadspacevapor.Usinga4-gsample,thisisequivalenttoabout0.02ppmbymassRVCMinthePVCresin.1.1Thistestmethodissuitablefordeterminingtheresidualvinylchloridemonomer(RVCM)contentofpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)homopolymerandcopolymerresinsforusesotherthanfoodcontact.Therangeforthistest,basedoninterlaboratoryevaluation,isfrom0.1to400ppmRVCM.1.2ThistestmethodcanbeadaptedtodeterminationsofRVCMinaPVCcopolymerresiniftheHenry''sLawconstantat90x00B0;Cforthatcopolymerisknown.1.3Thistestmethodcannotbeusedforpolymerinfusedforms,suchascubesorsheets.RefertoTestMethodD4443orTestMethodD3680forthesematerials.1.4ThistestmethodisproposedasanalternativetoEPAMethod107fordeterminationofvinylchloridemonomersindry-resinsamples.1.5ThevaluesstatedSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThisstandardandISO6401:2008addressthesamesubjectmatter,butdifferintechnicalcontent.
