【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversstructuralclaynonloadbearingtile(partition,fireproofing,andfurring).Onegradeoftileiscovered,designatedGradeNB.1.2Thepropertyrequirementsofthisspecificationapplyatthetimeofpurchase.Theuseofresultsfromtestingoftileextractedfrommasonrystructuresfordeterminingconformanceornon-conformancetothepropertyrequirements(Section3)ofthisstandardisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.3Tilecoveredbythisspecificationaremanufacturedfromclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringsubstancesandsubjectedtoaheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentmustdevelopsufficientfiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementsofthisspecification.(SeefiringandfiredbondinTerminologyC1232.)1.4Fireproofingtileintendedforuseinload-bearingmasonryshallconformtoSpecificationC34.1.5Iftilehavingaparticularcolor(Note1),texture,orfinisharedesired,thesefeaturesshallbespecifiedseparatelybythepurchaser.Note18212;Coloroftilevarieswiththetypeofclayusedanddegreeofburning;hence,itcannotbetakenasindicativeofclassificationuntilafterithasbeenrelatedtoabsorptionbyactualtests.1.6Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotesandfootnotesthatprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisspecification.1.7Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.
